Serenity in Sage
Scottsdale, ArizonaKitchen and Dining RemodelThis Scottsdale remodel is a study in how thoughtful space planning can transform not just a room, but the entire rhythm of a home. The kitchen and formal dining room were reimagined from the ground up, rethought entirely to serve the way this family actually lives.
The range moved from the island to a dedicated back feature wall, where a grand arched plaster hood now anchors the space as its defining moment. A generously scaled island takes center stage in its place, sized for gathering, homework, and the everyday life that gravitates naturally toward the kitchen. Double farmhouse sinks sit beneath a new 10-foot sliding window, while a raised lid with clerestory windows floods the heart of the space with natural light from above. Newly enlarged arched openings connect the kitchen to both the great room and the formal dining room, creating a sense of flow that feels as though it was always there.
The dining room is a quietly dramatic counterpoint: rich white oak millwork, vaulted beamed ceilings, a statement chandelier, and an arched art niche wrapped in an apothecary-style wallpaper that gives the room its soul.
The palette throughout is warm and serene — creamy painted cabinetry, moss-toned quartzite, medium-stained white oak accents, sage ribbed tile, and unlacquered brass. Refined without being precious. Welcoming without trying too hard.
